GUILTY: Sarah Palin Abused Authority

Friday, October 10, 2008

A bi-partisan legislative committee investigating Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has found she unlawfully abused her authority in firing the state’s public safety commissioner.

The investigative report concludes that a family grudge wasn’t the sole reason for firing Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan but says it likely was a contributing factor.

The Republican vice presidential nominee has been accused of firing a commissioner to settle a family dispute. Palin supporters have called the investigation politically motivated.

Monegan says he was dismissed as retribution for resisting pressure to fire a state trooper involved in a bitter divorce with the governor’s sister. Palin says Monegan was fired as part of a legitimate budget dispute.

Oh and we can’t forget the icing on today’s cake: McLame being forced to talk down his new racist mouth-breathers, after being the one to rile ’em up.

Dontcha jus’ know that’s gotta hurt! *wink*

Just in time for the Sunday morning, political blab circuit to eat it up!

    Credibility? What’s dat??? 🙂

  4. Randy Arroyo says:

Now I’m not a political campaign manager but isn’t this the sort of thing that would come up during the vetting process? Are we to believe John McCain just did care? Or is he so ethically challenged that he was willing to look the other way and ignore the Troopergate investigation?

  5. rastamick61 says:

Vetting process randy ? In Palin’s world vetting is what they call taking your husky in to have his stuff cut oiff.

  6. Conejo1982 says:

    I agree.

There was no vetting process in selecting Palin to be McCain’s VP. If there had been, Palin’s ties to very disturbing right wing groups and of course, the Troopergate scandal, would’ve surfaced and made the RNC reconsider her.

I always said. McCain wanted Lieberman to be his VP but Lieberman’s pro-choice record would’ve made the GOP base turn on him faster than a mongoose going after a rattlesnake.

Chris! They got a Obama dildo. SMH.

  8. JollyRoger says:

This seems to be the theme in the left blogosphere tonight. I can hardly wait for the ‘tard posts to begin 🙂

  9. HelenWheels says:

They didn’t vet her. It’s so beyond reckless, just like every other ‘strategy’ in this failed campaign.

  10. HelenWheels says:

Actually, I think both Palin and McLame should be forced to step down from their current positions of power after this hatemongeringly inciteful pandering to extremists. It shows glaringly anti-American and extremely irresponsible behavior, riling crazies to the point of yelling they want to kill Obama or they are terrified of him because he’s a terrorist.

What ever happened to accountability? Is this how a U.S. Senator and a Governor should behave? It’s so overwhelmingly disgusting and horrifying.

  11. R.J. says:

Politically motivated? Both parties voted 12-0. 🙂

  12. Maithri says:

How much more evidence do the American people need that this ticket is a ticket to nowhere…

Also Chris have you checked this blog out…

    Peace, M

    Bullshit in a skirt…

  14. Ypsilanti says:

The state’s findings prove what many people have said from the beginning: Palin abused her power and violated the Alaska Ethics Act.

Palin is a woman of rather low intelligence but who is extremely ambitious. Her folksy, shoot a moose shtick, attracts crowds worshiping dipshits as dumb as the governor and who are easy to manipulate.

Once this campaign ends and Palin returns to where from whence she blew in, I predict she will be received as a returning hero. Just as Bush will return to Dallas as a hero, Palin appeals to a small slice of Americans buffeted by the bad economy and fearful of an America that is genuinely multi cultural and diverse.

  15. Circle See says:

This is type of October surprise I like!

Thank you, Alaska. I think this is the final nail in the McCain/Palin coffin.

  16. Arizona Leatherneck says:

Karma’s a bitch and so is Sarah Palin.

If she’s looking around for sympathy from people, she’s going to come up empty handed because her nasty mouth and nastier rhetoric turned most people off to her.

Now run along and get your ass back to Juneau and your disabled son. He needs a mother.

  17. Mauigirl says:

This was great news to hear tonight!

  18. A Regular Patriot says:

So much for Palin’s claim she’s a reformer.

If anything, Sarah Palin is an opportunist and a governor who has no clue about how to effectively manage a state. She needs to go.

  19. Fran says:

Abuse of Power? She gets extra points in repug circles.

  20. Estacada says:

Palin is the ultimate political albatross.

If this story broke 90 days before the election and not 24 days, I really think Palin would be off the ticket but there isn’t enough time to get rid of her now.

  21. chrisso says:

McCain’s a gambler. In my experience, gamblers lose more than they win. The Palin experiment was a gamble.
Do you want a gambler running the country?
