The Intrade prediction market opened today trading on whether “Sarah Palin will be withdrawn as Republican VP nominee before 2008 presidential election.” At 8:55AM, Tuesday morning, the market is selling the prediction at 18 a share and rising. That means 18 percent of traders think Palin will be removed.

Intrade predicted Joe Biden would be Barack Obama’s running mate in August and its traders were also correct about every Senate race in 2006. It fell flat in predicting a Democratic majority.

Chrisopher, This little chickadee has transformed McCain 2008 into a circus. A traveling sideshow you would encounter at a carnival.

    Truly unbelievable.

  2. Christopher says:

    Aunt Peg,

Intrade’s take on McCandy is just another in a long line of reliable predictions of election outcomes.

They have McCandy withdrawing before the election. They also predicted Biden would be Obama’s VP.

Like I said, McCandy will be hitchhiking back to Alaska on Ted Stevens’ “Bridge to Nowhere” by Halloween!

  3. Harry says:

The choice of Sarah Palin reminds me of the horror movie called “An Experiment in Terror.”

LMAO! Hey, Maybe that is where McCain found McCandy? Hitching on the Bridge to Nowhere?

  5. Jazzy says:

I know I should not be enjoying this as much as I am but I can’t help myself.

  6. JollyRoger says:

This chick offers up so many targets I can’t reload fast enough.

  7. libhomo says:

I hope this drama doesn’t completely distract people from the arrests and assaults of reporters that are going on.

  8. fran says:

The Palin choice was presented as the unveiling of an “unknown politician”- did they really think she would retain privacy while putting her a hearbeat away from the presidency? People who choose to live in remote areas do so because they embrace the *wide open spaces* (no pun intended). I would think a rural Alaskan would hate living in the thick & scrutiny as a DC insider, at the highest level. Maybe Palin thought she would follow in Cheney’s footsteps- get the job, then head off to an undisclosed location, cut behind closed door resource exploitation deals, and show up for occasional fundraisers.
I don’t care what shade of lipstick they put on this pig ~ it ain’t gonna fly.

  9. Woodcliffe says:

This woman is a statement about John McCain’s judgment or lack of judgment.

If this is who he selects to be his VP, the person who is a heartbeat away from the presidency, just imagine what his cabinet will look like?

Maybe he’ll appoint Cindy Lou to be Secretary of Health & Human Service because she adopted a child from a third world country?

This circus needs to come to a crashing close for the good of the country.

  10. Peace Nick says:

Correct me if I’m wrong but wouldn’t the medical records clear up any doubt as to who the mother is?

It isn’t rocket science to release the records and put a period at the end of the sentence.

Yet, Ms. Palin refuses to do this simple act. Why? What is she hiding?

  11. dirti boi says:

    Bingo, Peace Nick.

You are wise and insightful and if McCain and Palin want to put the kibosh on this rumor, then release the fucking medical records.

My guess is, they won’t because the rumor is true.

  12. Conejo1982 says:

Intrade prediction is up to 55.

Not good for Palin. They’ve been correct on so many other election outcomes that if I were a betting man, I wouldn’t put Monopoly money on Palin’s name being on the GOP ticket come November.

  13. nigeleccles says:

On Hubdub the market is currently forecasting that Palin is 19% likely to stand down:

Oh, and we are also forecasting that there is a 40% chance that she uses Alaska’s proximity to Russia to back up her national security credentials:

  14. Mauigirl says:

I wouldn’t be surprised if she did withdraw. Maybe not even for political reasons – I’m sure she is so overwhelmed with the sudden publicity – and now notoriety – that she wishes it never happened to her.

  15. lea-lea says:

I heard tonight that the media is being refused all access to Miss Wasilla.

No one, not even FOX, can have access to Palin as a protect shield has descended over her.

I don’t think she’ll be around much longer.
