The price of party unity is helping Hillary Clinton pay-off her $10 million dollar campaign debt.

Democratic presidential candidate, Barack Obama has asked his finance team to help his former opponent Hillary Clinton pay off a debt of at least $10 million dollars from her failed presidential campaign.

In a teleconference with his top fundraisers yesterday afternoon, Obama asked them to help the former first lady, a campaign spokesman confirmed.

Later at a star-studded fundraising gala in Los Angeles, the Illinois senator, who could become America’s first black president, appealed to those in the crowd who might have supported Clinton.

“I know I caused some heartburn and some frustration,” he said, adding that he and Clinton “were allies then and we’re allies now.”

My advice to Obama’s supporters is simple: DON’T PAY OFF HILLARY’S CAMPAIGN DEBT.

No one forced to Sen. Clinton to remain in the race after the May 6th, North Carolina Democratic primary, when Barack Obama carried the state by winning 56.30% of the vote. This date marked the end of Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Yet, thanks to Clinton’s Herculean ego, she remained in the race another month, racking up unnecessary debts and now she has the audacity to ask Obama’s supporters to help get her out of the hole?

Sorry, but asking Obama’s supporters to make Hillary Clinton finacially solvent again has nothing to do with party unity — it’s bribery.

Outrageous. This bitch deserves Monopoly money and nothing more. If the Clintons are in debt then Billary can go make speeches all of next year. I’ve read he gets $500,000 per speech. He can make 20 speeches and the Clintons are back where they started before January.

  2. Rachel says:

So let me try to understand this. Hillary disappears for a month and on her first day back in the Senate the appeal went out to Team Obama for coin? Who the hell does she think she is, anyway? Hillary Clinton can go fuck herself. Not a thin dime from moi.

  3. Why don’t she ask those P.U.M.A. supporters to pay for it.Then she can take some of that money and pay for that riot they want to start in Denver.

  4. Bill Hussein O'Reilly says:

What the hell is wrong with Obama?

If Hillary asked him to eat her pussy would he show up in Georgetown freshly showered and wearing Karate?

Hell no, don’t ask people to pay off Hillary’s debt. Imagine if this were the other way round. The Hillbots would be screaming at the top of their lungs.

  5. Peace Nick says:

Wasn’t John Kerry left with $100 million from his failed 2004 presidential campaign to spend as he sees fit?

If these party wags want to make nicey-nicey, I suggest Hillary Clinton get the money from Kerry.

Leave Obama and his base out of it.

This is precisely why people say when the Clintons are involved it always turns into a drama.

  6. Brigadoon says:

    Party unity my ass.

  7. Roger says:

You have GOT to be kidding me. Why in hell should Obama pay off her debt? That’s like asking me to pay off a friend’s student loan debt–just because we were in the running for the same job and I happened to be the one who got it. That’s some goddamn bullshit. SHE chose to run her campaign badly; SHE failed to secure the financial support of enough donors; SHE spent badly and madly–why the frak is this all of a damned sudden Obama’s problem?

  8. Jim says:

After needlessly prolonging her campaign, Hillary Clinton should not expect any person or group to now be responsible for her debt. Here we are again, slave to more Clinton nonsense. The focus should be on defeating McBush, not rescuing the Clintons from themselves.

  9. Travelingman says:

I have a novel idea, how about she sends Bill out to continue working for a living making millions giving those speeches he likes so well. Seems like they developed a pretty nice nest egg from him selling himself like a prostitue. She can be the pimp and he has always been a whore.

  10. Travelingman says:

PS This is the only place I visit where the comments are LAUGH OUT LOUD funny.

  11. Paul V says:

they shouldn’t pay hillary debt off. then barack going to think the clintons owes them something, And if Barack ask Hillary for the Vp spot she should say no

THis way she can run again in 4 years,

  12. Miranda says:

Where are those nuts from PUMA and the likes of Harriet Christian and company? Let them pay the debt since they just LUVS them some Miss Hillary so much. Don’t they know romance without finance is a damn nuisance – that should be on Miss Hillary’s website streaming across 24/7.

  13. Roger says:

Oh, no; they’re still fuming about how super sexist Obama is–I’m assuming that folks like Harriet Christian and denizens of some of the crazier “feminist” blogs will assume that Obama’s call to pay off Missy Anne’s debt is part of some patriarchal conspiracy.

  14. Aunt Peg says:

Christopher – You hit the nail on the head. No one put a gun to Hillary’s head and forced to to remain in the race until June.

Obama has no obligation to help her get out of debt.

She ran for the nomination like she was Leona Helmsley. Tough potatootee.

  15. kellybelle says:

Bill Hussein Oreilly: I will spend the rest of the night trying to sear that image from my brain, LOL.

How will we know where our money is going? if we give to the DNC will that go to pay off Hillary’s debt or will giving to Obama’s site prevent that?

  16. taco says:

If Hillary asked him to eat her pussy would he show up in Georgetown freshly showered and wearing Karate?

Dude, Karate! I wore that green shit in college. Thought I was so fly!

  17. Randy Arroyo says:

The Clintonites are saying this is usual and customary after a primary race for the victor to ask his donors to retire his opponents debt. I have to say I don’t recall this happening in previous primaries. The thing that annoys me is, Hillary and Bill Clinton have a personal net worth of more than $100 million and she has the nerve to ask Obama to pay off her unpaid bills? Why is Obama dancing with the Clintons? He doesn’t work for Clinton 2008.

  18. R.J. says:

If Hillary wants to pay off her debts, then she can ask William Jefferson for that money in the back of his freezer.

  19. Gryphen says:

I might have been willing to give Hil some money to get the hell out of the race a few months ago, but right now I have to say I don’t have any spare change for the bitch.

Hey by the way Chris I thought you might like to know that the Reverend Ted Haggard is all ungayed now and has been let out of the “pray your troubles away” compound to test out his new found heterosexuality.

I have written it up on my site and given Teddy about nine months tops before he falls off of the vagina wagon.

  20. A Regular Patriot says:

    Adults manage their money.

If Hillary Clinton was accruing $1 million a day in debt while campaigning, then she isn’t an adult with a sense of finances. In other words, she isn’t an adult.

She should have managed her finances better but to ask Obama’s backers to bail her out of red ink is outrageous.

    Hillary should eat it!

  21. fran says:

Hillary is $22 million in the hole, and she is trying to coerce Obama to help pay the debt, in exchange for touring with him to help her supporters to vote for Obama.
Please! The $ that campaigns get is considered to be the *silent vote*. If they money was not there, she should not have spent it. Besides $22 million is 1/5th of their annual income. Where’s the hardship?
Running ou campaign deeply in debt was just another red flag that Hillary was not up to the task of running the country.
Hill- Pay your own Bill, or ask Bill to pay your bill. Her Cash flow problem is not ours to fix.

  22. Ingrid says:

sorry to throw in a bucket of cold water but THAT’s the price you pay for a two party system. The inner workings of either party demands ultimately to tow the party line and demands at least the appearance of unity. Who knows that Clinton gives in return. As a politically independent, I know people loath to talk shop (election, campaign reform, gee, maybe even setting up a real viable third party), but in between election years, it takes working on disabling this two party system that even allows dissenters from within the party to vote more according to their conscious. I have no doubt that Obama speaking on her behalf comes as an exchange for something..

  23. amanda says:

It’s shocking that this is what I would find FROM THE LEFT about Hillary’s campaign debt. How did things get so divisive?

We just watched the BEST primary race in the his/herstory of this country. WOW. No matter who of the original frontrunners and many other talented democrats who made a bid would be WORLDS better than the clown we have now.

How did a hard fought race with people of sound ideals, impressive political accomplishments, and the ambition to dream of a better country end up vehemently hating one of the most promising candidates our team could hope for? Why is there so much wrath against Hillary on these sites? LEAVE THAT FOR THE REPUBLICANS!!!

I truly believe that this is latent sexism that makes us mad a womyn would want this so much. Why should anyone give up before they actually lose? Why isn’t it a sign of the strength of our party that we put up two SPECTACULAR candidates instead of only one? I SUPPORT OBAMA. I SUPPORT HILLARY. Thank you to both of them for inspiring me to be more than I already am and for reminding me that the American Dream is still possible for people who dare to dream big enough.

  24. Joe says:

Why would they give up before they lost? Because they are out of money and not raising at much as their counter part…. hmmmm maybe a good sign that the support isn’t there. We’re in a little thing called a credit crisis right now where apparently people were spending money they didn’t have, and can’t pay back. Now why would I want someone who does the same thing on an even larger scale than then average american to be the one that is going to bail us out.

I don’t know what people being angry over this could possibly be sexist. To me sexist is anyone who was out there during the election claiming that if you don’t vote Hillary than it’s sexist, only to not vote for Palin when she was the only women that was in the race representing the female gender. Do you think maybe for those people it wasn’t a gender thing after all, and one of voting for the set of policies that were closest to what you believe in the first place? Kind of like what were supposed to be doing. Not judging someone by Race, Age, Gender…. but the content of their character.

Oh and since I ranting now… Anyone who voted for Obama for the sole purpose of him being black, and you wanting a black person to be president.. Well then you are what I call racist.

Now that that is off my chest let’s all get along, and quit hating.

    Have a nice day.
