William Kristol is Insane

Monday, June 23, 2008

On Fox News Sunday this morning, Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol said that President Bush is more likely to attack Iran if he believes Barack Obama is going to be elected.

WALLACE: So, you’re suggesting that he might in fact, if Obama’s going to win the election, either before or after the election, launch a military strike?

KRISTOL: I don’t know. I mean, I think he would worry about it. On the other hand, you can’t — it’s hard to make foreign policy based on guesses of election results. I think Israel is worried though. I mean, what is, what signal goes to Ahmadinejad if Obama wins on a platform of unconditional negotiations and with an obvious reluctance to even talk about using military force.

Kristol also suggested that Obama’s election would tempt Saudi Arabia and Egypt to think, “maybe we can use nuclear weapons.”

Say again, why did the New York Times hire this lunatic?

Is Kristol just making this shit up or does he actually have a contact inside the Bush administration who feeds him these comments?

My guess is, he’s just being a drama queen.

  2. Rachel says:

I’m so tired of Israel controlling the foreign policy of the U.S. If Israel has issue with Iran then they need to deal with it and stop dragging my country into their security problems. Let us out of it.

  3. Larry says:

I think Bush will attack Iran no matter who is President to further the neocon agenda of obtaining world dominance through oil.

  4. RainBro says:

    He’s totally whack.

I began home subscription to the New York Times during the Clinton impeachment fracas. Our local paper here in Connecticut is pretty lame. For the most part, I’ve enjoyed having the Times delivered to my doorstep each day. But after they hired William “PNAC” Kristol, I promptly cancelled my home subscription in protest.

  6. DMason says:

If Bush bombs Iran, the military needs to sweep in and take him into custody and keep him under house arrest pending a trial before the Congress for war crimes.

  7. Woodcliffe says:

    Kristol is a pussy.

I notice GOPer man-boys like Kristol always talk tough while hiding behind the military or the office of the presidency but in reality, if you confronted Billyboy on the street and screamed “BOO” at him, he would take off down the street in terror.

“if Obama wins on a platform of unconditional negotiations”

Obama said there would be no PRECONDITIONS or advance requirements for talks with Iran. He didn’t say we would never require anything of them during negotiations. He didn’t “unconditionally surrender,” which is the harmonic this Koch Party press agent is trying to strike here.

The timing of this Goebbelsian remark is disturbing: Right after a huge Israeli Air Force rehearsal for an attack on Iran.

The way the Israeli right-wing has been dictating neocon policy ought to be investigated. Imagine the IRA designing our policy vis-a-vis the UK. Or the Taiwanese pushing us to arm them and attack China. And us doing it.

Meanwhile, Iran has tankers which “could be” carrying five months worth of Saudi oil production just idling in the Persian Gulf. Insurance? Imagine the price of oil, Hell, the supply of oil, if all Iranian & five months worth of Saudi oil were suddenly cut off.

Now, McBush, ‘splain to us again how attacking Iran is vital to OUR interests? And by OUR, I mean America’s.
