Report: U.S. to Attack Iran by End of April

According to a report in the Kuwait-based Arab Times and carried in the Indo-Asian News Service, the U.S. is planning to attack Iran’s nuclear reactors and other nuclear facilities by the end of this month.

Washington, sources say had started preparing a political speech to be delivered by U.S. president Bush later this month, announcing the military attack on Iran.

Sounding very similar to the lead up to the invasion of Iraq, the speech will provide the ‘evidence’ and the ‘justification’ for the U.S. to resort to the military option after failing to persuade Tehran to give up its nuclear ambitions.

According to the Arab Times, one of the justifications expected in the speech is Iran’s alleged role in the killing of American soldiers in Iraq by supporting various militias with money and arms.

Bush’s speech will also point to Iran’s political interference in Iraq, with the cooperation with Syria.

The sources quoted say that the U.S. will not resort to a ground attack in order to avoid human loss.

Funny how these attack news pieces keep showing up in foreign papers. Propaganda by the White House to keep the pressure on Iran and the War Pigs are using foreign news papers to do it, because they know they can’t here at home? I don’t know, but it makes me wonder.

If there is an attack, say goodbye to the republican party forever! Americans are tired of the illegal attacks on any nation of the White House’s choosing.

Morning Kay and congrats on your new home!

A reader emailed me to say he heard a similar report on the CBC. This is becoming real and I don’t like the sound of it. Bush doesn’t have Congressional approval to start another war.

Let’s just hope if Bush tries, his actions will trigger the Articles of Impeachment and the process to remove him (and Cheney) from office will begin.

I don’t like the sound of this one bit. WWIII in April – it sounds like the Third Reich.

The military can stop Bush. The Generals can say “no, Mr. President, we’re not dropping an atomic bomb on a city (Tehran) of 10 million to make you happy.” The military can haul Bush out of the Oval Office in chains. This is a military solution.

  5. Harry says:

I wish the Dems would impeach Bush but as I see it, he’s their ace in the hole. No better campaign issue to win the White House in 2008.

It comes down to oil – who has it and who needs it. Iraq and Iran have it and the USA needs it. Hence PNAC and their agenda to obtain an energy supply into the 21st century and God help anyone who dares get in their way. Just ask the surviving families of the 650,000 Iraqis who’ve died since the start of Bush’s Iraq war and the the families of the 3,200 dead U.S. soldiers Bush sent to their deaths. A pox on Bush’s house. May he suffer terribly.

  7. Christopher says:

I have blogged extensively about the coming U.S. attack on Iran, citing such mainstream sources as the UK Independent, the Christian Science Monitor, Pravda and now IANS.

Let’s hope they’re wrong but the fact is, the U.S. has 3 aircraft carriers now in the Gulf, in addition to 100 Nacy ships and ground troops on Iran’s borders. If all this is just show intended just to frighten Iran, I’ve never seen anything like it before.

The Congress had better act fast. The clock is ticking.

  8. Mark says:

Bush is capable of inflicting a lot of harm on the world with 500 days left in office. I had hoped and prayed the new Congress would impeach him BEFORE he had the opportunity to launch another war or invasion but it doesn’t look like the Democrats have the political will to try and impeach him.

  9. Perhaps we should send Pelosi to Iran too.
