Lou Dobbs wasn’t the only person exiting CNN yesterday. Porn slut, Carrie Prejean, the dethroned and disgraced former Miss California briefly appeared on the Larry King show to whore her new book but didn’t like being asked about the reasons why she dropped her lawsuit against the pageant and went all Diva on the 75 year old King. But despite all her fidgeting and whining, she was too stupid to figure out how to unhook her microphone and just sat there looking like a deer caught in the headlights.

Controversial cable personality, Lou Dobbs, surprised his CNN viewers tonight by announcing he is leaving the cable news channel effective immediately.

Sitting before an image of an American flag on his television, Dobbs said:

“Some leaders in media, politics and business have been urging me to go beyond the role here at CNN and to engage in constructive problem solving as well as to contribute positively to the great understanding of the issues of our day. I’m considering a number of options and directions.”

Many media watchers expect the Birther aficionado to sprint to FOX News, where he would find a welcoming and enthusiastic audience for his anti-immigration and xenophobic world view.

On this Veterans Day, it seemed like a perfect time to destroy one of the dumbest arguments used by people opposed to the repeal of the viciously homophobic, Clinton-era military policy of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”

On this Veterans Day, it seemed like a perfect time to destroy one of the dumbest arguments used by people opposed to the repeal of the viciously homophobic, Clinton-era military policy of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”

“Unit cohesion,” as the argument goes, says members of the military might be uncomfortable serving alongside openly gay and lesbian servicemen and women, and that discomfort means a unit may not function as intended. It’s better, the argument goes, to exclude qualified, well-trained soldiers from service in the midst of two wars than to make homophobic soldiers feel ill at ease.

But the evidence to support repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” keeps growing:

A survey of troops who served in Iraq and Afghanistan concluded that having gay or lesbian soldiers in fighting units has no significant impact on unit cohesion or readiness.

The data raise new doubts about the underlying assumption of the congressional ban, namely that military discipline will fall apart if gays and lesbians are permitted to serve openly.

“Service members said the most important factors for unit cohesion and readiness were the quality of their officers, training, and equipment,” said Laura Miller, a military sociologist at the RAND Corporation, a private research group that has long advised the Pentagon, which conducted the study along with the University of Florida. “Serving with another service member who was gay or lesbian was not a significant factor that affected unit cohesion or readiness to fight.”

Three-quarters of the veterans surveyed said they felt “comfortable” or “very comfortable” in the presence of gays or lesbians, and nearly one in five said they already knew of a gay or lesbian member in their unit.

According to the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, 502 gay and lesbian soldiers have been kicked out of the military since President Obama was inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2009.

So, on this Veterans Day, I ask members of the Congress and President Obama, what are you waiting for? Repeal the ban — now.

This caught me off guard. The American Medical Association proved to be ahead of President Obama and the U.S. Congress by agreeing to join efforts to repeal the viciously homophobic, Clinton-era military policy of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.’

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

This caught me off guard. The American Medical Association proved to be ahead of President Obama and the U.S. Congress by agreeing to join efforts to repeal the viciously homophobic, Clinton-era military policy of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.’

In a surprise move, the Chicago-based AMA also voted to declare that gay marriage bans contribute to health disparities for gay couples and their children.

The nation’s largest doctors’ group adopted both gay-rights policies at its interim policy meeting Tuesday in Houston.

The AMA says the ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy creates an ethical dilemma for gay and lesbian service members, as well as the doctors who treat them.

The other measure declares that marriage bans leave gays vulnerable to being excluded from health care benefits, including health insurance and family and medical leave rights. The new AMA policy stops short of opposing the bans.

Who cares about wonkish matters as the healthcare reform bill reaching the senate this week for debate or shortages of the H1N1 swine flu vaccine causing Americans to freak out, because Levi Johnston has arrived in New York for his first Playgirl shoot.

Wasilla’s most famous baby daddy is in the house, y’all. Levi makes the girls go wild and the boys get wet and the question on everyone’s lips is, will he really deliver full frontal or just keep us guessing?

The great thing about Levi’s Playgirl shoot (besides the obvious) is the timing of the event. As Levi ditches his Levis for the camera, 900 miles away in Chicago, his almost mother-in-law, former Gov. Sarah Palin will be sitting down with the increasingly irrelevant Oprah Winfrey to whore her new book, Going Rogue.

In show business, this is called “stealing thunder” and Levi has become a seasoned pro at stealing thunder. Now, get busy Levi and don’t disappoint us. Show the world why despite all those Republicans family values, Sarah Palin still couldn’t keep her teenage daughter Bristol off the cock.

If you’re gay or lesbian, one of the significant aspects of the sweeping healthcare reform bill passed last night by the Democratic Congress is the change to the way domestic partner benefits are treated by the IRS.

Under current law, domestic partner benefits are treated as taxable income — a blatantly homophobic and discriminatory practice that exposes employees and the employer to higher tax liability.

Gay or lesbian employees with domestic partner benefits, on average paid $1,100 more in taxes than their straight coworker. Under the healthcare reform bill, such benefits are tax-free.

From personal experience regarding domestic partner benefits, I can report that adding Jim to my health plan, or Jim adding me to his health plan, exposes the other to roughly $5,000 a year in additional taxable income. Because of this, neither of us have added the other to our employer sponsored health plan. Over the years, I have written more than a dozen complaint letters to my Congressional representatives regarding this discriminatory practice.

In the words of Congressman Jim McDermott (D-WA):

“[The change] would correct a longstanding injustice, end a blatant inequity in the tax code and help make healthcare covergae more affordable for more Americans.”

I couldn’t agree more.

Handing President Obama a victory, the Democratic-controlled House narrowly passed landmark health care legislation Saturday night to expand and provide coverage to tens-of-millions of Americans who lack it and place much needed new restrictions on the powerful insurance industry.

Likening the legislation to the passage of Social Security in 1935 and Medicare in 1965, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi crooned, “Oh, what a night!” President Obama issued a statement saying, “I look forward to signing it into law by the end of the year.” The 220-215 House vote cleared the way for the Senate to begin its debate and vote on the measure.

Here are some key highlights of the legislation that I like:

· Americans will be required to carry insurance
· Federal subsidies will be made to those who can not afford it
· Insurance will be banned from denying coverage on the basis of pre-existing medical conditions
· Insurers would no longer be able to charge higher premiums on the basis of gender or medical history
· The industry would lose its exemption from Federal antitrust restrictions on price fixing and market allocation
· The bill is projected to reduce the Federal deficits by $104 billion over a decade

What I do not like and have concerns about:

· The bill cuts Medicare spending by more than $400 billion over a decade
· No abortion coverage except in cases of incest, rape or when the life of the mother was in danger
· The bill does nothing to close the Medicare Part D donut hole

The legislation passed with only one Republican vote, Rep. Anh ”Joseph” Cao of Louisiana, thus denying House Minority Whip Eric Cantor the unanimous GOP vote he so desperately sought.

Not good. President Barack Obama is nearing a decision to send more than 30,000 additional U.S. troops to Afghanistan next year, but he may not announce it until after he consults with key allies and completes a trip to Asia later this month, administration and military officials have told McClatchy.

As it now stands, the administration’s plan calls for sending three Army brigades from Fort Campbell, and Fort Drum, N.Y. and a Marine brigade, for a total of as many as 23,000 additional combat and support troops.

Another 7,000 troops would man and support a new division headquarters for the international force’s Regional Command (RC) South in Kandahar, the Taliban birthplace where the U.S. is due to take command in 2010. Some 4,000 additional U.S. trainers are likely to be sent as well, the officials said.

Still, the plan would fall well short of the 80,000 troops that Army Gen. Stan McChrystal, the top U.S. military commander in Afghanistan, suggested as a “low-risk option” that would offer the best chance to contain the Taliban-led insurgency and stabilize Afghanistan. If in fact. McChrystal really asked for 80,000 troops.

Saturday, November 7, 2009

· On Friday, the Obama administration allowed that the national unemployment number had reached 10.2 percent in October, but quickly pointed out the number is still lower than the early 1980s peak of 10.8 percent. According to piece in the New York Times, unemployment shows 17.5 percent were unemployed or underemployed in October. The rate is closer to 20 percent in states with housing bubbles, like California and Arizona, or that have large manufacturing sectors, like Michigan, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island and South Carolina. No wonder the president signed a bill extending unemployment benefits for 20 additional weeks.

· Meanwhile, Politico reports as Washington reels from the news of 10.2 percent unemployment, the Center for Responsive Politics is out with a new report describing the wealth of members of Congress. Two-hundred-and-thirty-seven members of Congress are millionaires. That’s 44 percent of the body as opposed to about 1 percent of Americans overall. CRP says California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa is the richest lawmaker on Capitol Hill, with a net worth estimated at about $251 million. Next in line: Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA), worth about $244.7 million; Sen. Herb Kohl (D-WI), worth about $214.5 million; Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA), worth about $209.7 million; and Sen. John Kerry (D-MA), worth about $208.8 million.

· Obese homophobe, Maggie Gallagher, president of the National Organization for Marriage, which opposes gay marriage says stopping marriage equality in New Jersey is a top priority. The Democratic controlled legislature in New Jersey, which currently recognizes same-sex couples in civil unions, is under pressure to pass a bill authorizing gay marriage before Gov. Jon Corzine ends his term in mid-January. Voters defeated Corzine on Tuesday and replaced him with Republican Chris Christie, who opposes gay marriage.

· And finally, Ted Haggard, the disgraced homophobic preacher and male prostitute enthusiast, is rebuilding his empire out of his basement. Just weeks after tweeting he didn’t want to start his own church, Haggard is doing just that from his house at 1865 Old Ranch Road, in Colorado Springs, CO. The first meeting is this Thursday and will be a “prayer meeting.” Remember, Teddy is a charismatic, motivated man who started the New Life Church in 1985 with just 25 people meeting in his basement. In America, there is always room for a new fundie leader with a Bible in one hand and a bottle of poppers in the other hand.

Former Miss California, Carrie Prejean, has gone from beauty queen to self-banging porn slut and we couldn’t be more pleased. The dethroned and disgraced pageant winner suddenly dropped her legal case against Miss California USA after pageant officials were hipped to the existence of a “sex tape,” according to a source familiar with case.

Prejean, who is vehemently antigay marriage, was fired in June after naughty modeling photos of her surfaced that pageant officials said were a breach of her contract. Prejean sued the pageant in August, arguing her firing was religious discrimination because of her vocal opposition to same-sex marriage.

Pageant officials countersued last month, demanding she repay $5,200 the pageant floated her so she could sport some fake titties up and down the catwalk. The pageant also demanded Prejean give them all proceeds from a book she’s written.

But suddenly Prejean dropped her lawsuit against the pageant after the celebrity website TMZ obtained a porn tape starring Prejean. The tape was described by TMZ managing editor editor Harvey Levin as “extremely graphic.”

Levin said during a webcast Wednesday that he obtained the Prejean porn video over the summer and found it “too racy” to post on the TMZ site. Levin said Prejean was a solo performer in the video — code for Prejean was banging herself.

Maine voters repealed a law Tuesday allowing same-sex couples to wed, dealing the gay marriage rights movement its 31st defeat on the issue. Gay marriage has now lost in every single state in which civil rights are left up to the voters.

A number activists have asked why I didn’t use my voice and my blog to advocate more often on behalf of Maine. So let me respond.

First, I’ve written a number of pieces analyzing where the money came from used to fund the antigay marriage effort in Maine. The vast majority came from just two sources: the National Organization for Marriage and the Catholic Church.

Second, I stayed away from the finger pointing and mudslinging leading up to the vote because I know all-too-well what the record is when marriage equality is decided by the voters and it always favors the religious bigots. Hate is a powerful motivator and it turned out that Maine — thought to have a moderate, independent-minded electorate, is no different from Texas or Florida.

I am not remotely surprised by the vote in Maine. That’s not to say I’m not disappointed and even angry — I’m just not surprised. I mean, if gay marriage can’t win in California, was it ever realistic to expect a different outcome in Maine?

For years I have said civil rights have no place on the ballot. If gay activists are serious about expanding the definition of “marriage” to include same-sex couples, the only sure fire way to make this a reality is to challenge the issue as a Federal constitutional matter before the U.S. Supreme Court. Is such a move fraught with risks? Of course but as it stands, antigay marriage advocates are 0-for-31. Gay marriage equality is too important to be left up to individual states.

When responding to charges of foot-dragging on fulfilling his campaign promise to repeal the viciously homophobic, Clinton-era ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy, President Obama often hides behind he’s just “abiding by the law.” Code for when the hapless Democratic Congress finally gets around to sending him a repeal bill, he will sign it.

But President Obama has found an unlikely kindred soul in the “abiding by the law” ruse in Marine Corps Gen. James T. Conway. Conway busy is circulating Pentagon memos voicing his vehement opposition to repealing ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.’

In “private conversations” that were telegraphed to the right-wing, Moonie-owned newspaper The Washington Times, Gen. James T. Conway flapped his piehole about how he “feels very strongly that [repealing the ban] would be disruptive, and he opposes it.”

Gen. James T. Conway doesn’t want any faggy soldiers.

So how did Conway reach his conclusion? According to the Times, he’s “the only chief known to have actively surveyed his generals on the impact of removing the ban.” Not that his colleagues in other branches of military appear to be so far from his position:

The four-star chiefs of the Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Army have said little on the topic in public and have not been pressed by Congress to provide their professional opinions. All four declined to answer when asked for their personal opinions on the ban by The Times, except to say they will abide by the law.

Just like our “fiercest advocate,” President Obama.

Bishop Kaleta said tourism is important to the Vatican. Although there is no centralized tourism department to advertise and promote such visits. The Bishop said: “If you think about Europe, most of its architecture is connected with churches. It would be good to educate the people to honor these places.” He added that religious tourism in the form of pilgrimages is seen as a very good development, because “they are mostly connected not with the most rich of society; most are of average to the lower incomes.”

However, gay or lesbian tourism is viewed as an abuse of the Vatican.

When asked about gay and lesbian tourist groups, the Bishop bleated the typical homophobic rhetoric we’ve come to expect from the Catholic church:

“The church teachings are from the Bible. If we change this teaching, we will not be the Catholic Church. Don’t expect the Catholic church to change these issues, because it is our identity. I consider if someone is homosexual, it is abuse of our buildings and our religion. If you have different ideas, go to a different location.”

Noted, Bishop Kaleta. No chance I will ever set foot in St. Peter’s Basilica.

An 10th and 12th grade Honors English teacher in Piasa, IL was suspended for assigning an article about homosexuality in the animal kingdom to his students.

Dan Delong, an English teacher at Southwestern High School told a local newspaper:

“I have been suspended, but not without pay. But I would rather not comment further until I speak with my union representative.”

DeLong, who is straight and married, had his students read an article written by Jonah Lehrer and quotes Joan Roughgarden, a biology professor at Stanford University who challenges Darwinian sexual selection by documenting more than 450 animal species that engage in homosexual behaviors.

The article was published in a 2006 edition of “The Gay Animal Kingdom” and can be read in its entirety HERE.

Elizabeth Meyer, P.h.D., writing in Psychology Today asks:

“Should teachers ask their students to read about controversial topics? Should we allow parents veto power over the curriculum?”

Ms. Meyer points out Mr. Delong’s assigned reading was an attempt to ask students to question the dominance and “naturalness” of heterosexuality. He is helping his students understand concepts such as heterosexism and heteronormativity.

While Mr. DeLong’s suspension is outrageous and prejudicial on the merits, his wise students have responded in true activist fashion by forming a Facebook group called “Bring back Mr. Delong” to show support and share information about this situation.

Have you tried to get an H1N1 swine flu vaccine for yourself or your children, only to be told by your healthcare provider that none is available and even worse, no estimated time of vaccine arrival is offered?

While candidate Sen. Obama was critical of the previous administration’s handling of disasters and emergencies, now President Obama’s administration is admitting for the first time that responding to the complexities of public health emergency is much more challenging than they imagined.

In an interview with NPR’s Scott Simon, David Axelrod, President Obama’s senior adviser, said the administration based its predictions about how many doses of the H1N1 vaccine would be available by mid-October on bad information.

Scott Simon: On Friday, the president talked about his frustration that H1N1 vaccine hasn’t gotten out to more Americans. In August, the Centers for Disease Control said that 120 million doses would be available. They later scaled that back to 45 million. We’re speaking today, on the last day of October, 25 million doses reportedly are ready. Did the government overpromise?

David Axelrod: Well, I think the manufacturers overpromised, and what was reported was the representations that were made to us. The fact is that this is a problem that’s abating every day. And yes, we thought we would have 40,000 now, we have 26 —

Simon: — Forty million —

Axelrod: — I’m sorry, 40 million. Now we have 26 million. We believe that that is improving on a daily basis, and we’re going to have an ample supply in very short order. So yes, we probably did overpromise, and we overpromised on the basis of what was represented to us.

Simon: Does it give you any sensation about — is it harder to get things accomplished from this place than maybe you thought it was during the campaign?

Axelrod: Well, I don’t know that I had an expectation about how hard or easy it would be to get things done. The fact is that in terms of the H1N1 virus, we’ve mobilized pretty rapidly, and I think effectively starting the spring. I was in [with] the president after the first briefing, and there was a time, frankly, when people were suggesting that maybe we were overreacting. But he set the wheels in motion, and I think that that will have averted an even larger public health crisis. On the vaccine, by the way, Scott, I should mention that the other important element to this is Tamiflu to deal with the flu once it occurs. And there [are] ample supplies of those. So those who are affected ought to be able to get those treatments, and we’re particularly interested in the children.

Simon: Of course, during the campaign, then-Sen. Obama was critical of the previous administration’s handling of disasters and emergencies. Does the difficulty you’ve had in getting the vaccine out to millions of Americans make you think, “You know, it really is harder?”

Axelrod: Look, I don’t think anybody ever held the last administration up to a standard of perfection. I mean there was a wholesale of problems relative to Katrina that were appalling. This problem was exactly what I described to you, which was related to the manufacturers’ representation versus what they were able to produce. But I think in every other way, including our constant consultation with public health authorities around the country, from the time the first evidence of a potential epidemic arose, I’d be happy to match our performance with previous administrations on this. We’ve learned a lot from them.

Meanwhile, Health and Human Services now says H1N1 swine flu vaccine started shipping last Thursday and Friday and Americans should begin to see clinics offering the much-sought after vaccine throughout November. Stay tuned.

Friday was a good day for President Obama Ending the 22-year ban on travel to the U.S. by HIV-people, a promise Obama made to gay advocates during the campaign, the president said the restriction was “rooted in fear rather than fact.”

At a White House ceremony, President Obama said:

“If we want to be a global leader in combating HIV/AIDS, we need to act like it. We talk about reducing the stigma of this disease, yet we’ve treated a visitor living with it as a threat.”

The U.S. was one of only about a dozen countries that bar people with HIV from entering the country. Countries with such travel bans on include Brunei, China, Russia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.

Enacted in 1987, during the dark days of the Reagan era, when fear that HIV could be transmitted by casual contact, the ban was further strengthened by Congress in 1993 as an amendment offered by the viciously homophobic Sen. Jesse Helms, a Republican from North Carolina.

In a related story, President Obama on Friday signed the Ryan White AIDS Care Act, the largest federal program providing assistance to low-income people with HIV or AIDS, allocating $2.1 billion.

America, please! I know we live in a scary world of H1N1 swine flu, al Qaeda, and Sarah Palin, but has the stranglehold of political correctness reached the point where children can’t dress up as vampires and movie characters on Halloween anymore?

According to a piece in the New York Times, in a school districts across America, students are being encouraged to dress up as historical characters or food items but not vampires or zombies. In Texas, a school has issued suggestions for “positive costumes” for the annual Halloween dance. At Riverside Drive, a Los Angeles public school in the San Fernando Valley, the Halloween parade is being defanged right down to its jagged fingertips.

Explained Addys Gonzalez, the office assistant at theWalt Disney Elementary School in Burbank, CA:

“Children are not allowed to bring any weapons or masks to the costume parade, no swords, and they can wear moderate face makeup — nothing extreme.”

One school even went so far as to issue a costume appropriateness memo sent home to parents making the following points:

· They should not depict gangs or horror characters, or be scary
· Masks are allowed only during the parade
· Costumes may not demean any race, religion, nationality, handicapped condition or gender
· No fake fingernails
· No weapons, even fake ones
· Shoes must be worn

So, just to be clear, this is a politically correct Halloween costume.

However, these are not.

Republican Ken Cuccinelli, running for Attorney General in Virginia, has declined to promise whether he will uphold the state nondiscrimination policy enforced by his GOP predecessor, telling the Virginia-Pilot:

“My view is that homosexual acts, not homosexuality, but homosexual acts are wrong. They’re intrinsically wrong. And I think in a natural law based country it’s appropriate to have policies that reflect that. They don’t comport with natural law. I happen to think that it represents (to put it politely; I need my thesaurus to be polite) behavior that is not healthy to an individual and in aggregate is not healthy to society.”

Can someone slowly explain to Mr. Cuccinelli that as Attorney General, his duty is to uniformly enforce the laws of the state and that he represents all of the people of Virginia. His personal biases and religious prejudices about homosexuality cannot inform this process.

The iconic San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge is closed indefinitely after a steel rod snapped Tuesday evening, hitting three vehicles, officials said.

Caltrans — the agency that manages the bridge would not give a time for when the Bay Bridge would reopen after repairs are completed. The key transportion span opened on November 12, 1936 and is used by nearly 280,000 commuters daily. It is one of the longest spans in the world.

The cable broke on the westbound upper deck of the Bay Bridge during the Tuesday evening commute, hitting vehicles and snarling rush-hour traffic. High winds may have been a factor.

“If you look at the totality of the circumstances — you’ve got the 5:30 commute, you have a 5,000-pound piece of steel falling out of the sky. We are so fortunate that no one was injured or killed,” California Highway Patrol Sgt. Trent Cross

The incident occurred on a part of the bridge that underwent emergency repairs over Labor Day weekend intended to repair a crack in the 73 year old structure.

Never mistake Levi Johnston for a dumb Alaska redneck. The Wasilla studboy and baby-daddy to Sarah Palin’s grandson, is unloading on the former Alaska governor and it’s a bombshell.
In Part One of a two-part exclusive interview on CBS’ “Early Show” Levi told anchor Maggie Rodriguez:

Never mistake Levi Johnston for a dumb Alaska redneck. The Wasilla studboy and baby-daddy to Sarah Palin’s grandson, is unloading on the former Alaska governor and it’s a bombshell.

In Part One of a two-part exclusive interview on CBS’ “Early Show” Levi told anchor Maggie Rodriguez:

“There are some things that I have that are huge. And I haven’t said them because I’m not gonna hurt her that way.”

Palin routinely referred to her baby, Trig, who suffers from Down syndrome, as “retarded.”:

“I was just in shock for the first time I heard it,” Johnston recalled for Rodriguez. “And then she’d say it regularly. And I think she was joking, but it doesn’t make it right.”

Still, Johnston remarked to Rodriguez:

“Those are just little things I put in Vanity Fair. You know, all the big things I got, I’m keeping, you know, I’m keeping them in, and, you know, it’s just something that probably will never come out.”

Johnston stood by his contention in Vanity Fair that Sarah and Todd Palin would not only regularly talk about divorce in front of their children, adding:

“I’m sure it really hurt their kids, you know. I didn’t like it. I wasn’t even their kid.”

This new initiative would move the legal definition of a person further back into the reproductive cycle, granting cells the full spectrum of citizen rights.

Opposition groups, including Colorado genetic and fertilization researchers, say the law would have spiraling consequences, that it would put women at risk and freeze current work in medicine and reproduction.

Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) wins a Penis Pig Award for saying Tuesday that he’d back a Republican filibuster of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s health care reform bill.

Caucusing with Democrats and is positioning himself as a fiscal hawk on the issue, Lieberman said he opposes a health care bill that includes a government run insurance program even if it includes an opt out provision allowing states to not participate in the program.

Lieberman screeched:

“We’re trying to do too much at once. To put this government-created insurance company on top of everything else is just asking for trouble for the taxpayers, for the premium payers and for the national debt. I don’t think we need it now.”

Curious language coming from Sen. Lieberman who voted to support former President Bush’s Iraq war which required the U.S. to borrow billions of dollars from Communist China and Japan, adding substantially to this country’s budget deficit.

The U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee Report of 2009 reports the state of Connecticut has 334,000 uninsured residents, which representing 9.7% of the total state population. Evidently, these numbers are meaningless to Sen. Joe Lieberman.
