Ohio, referred to as a critically important swing state in a presidential election, announced its largest newspaper, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, endorsed President Barack Obama’s reelection.
The Plain Dealer Editorial Board writes:
Today, we recommend President Obama’s re-election. He has led the nation back from the brink of depression. Ohio in particular has benefited from his bold decision to revive the domestic auto industry. Because of his determination to fulfill a decades-old dream of Democrats, 30 million more Americans will soon have health insurance. His Race to the Top initiative seeded many of the education reforms embodied in Cleveland’s Transformation Plan. He ended the war in Iraq and refocused the battle to disrupt Al Qaeda and its terrorist allies. He ordered the risky attack inside Pakistan that killed Osama bin Laden.
If the newspaper endorsement of a candidate in a presidential race still holds water then please let it be true in Ohio because no Republican candidate has ever won the presidency without winning Ohio.

I think newspaper endorsements still very much matter. Particularity, to voters over 40-years of age and who read the newspaper regularly. If President Obama fails to carry Ohio, I fear he could lose the election and Romney will win. This would be a disaster for America.
I firmly believe President Obama will carry Ohio. If what you wrote is historically accurate, then Romney will be robbed of a victory in Ohio and by extension, he will be robbed of the keys to the White House.
Obama will carry Ohio. No question here.
Just got back from Ohio, only saw Romney yard signs in oober wealthy neighborhoods with “estates”, the working class (majority) are not supporting the 1%er- for obvious reasons.
Politico friends there say they think Obama will win Ohio, but the Rove/Koch money machine are pouring millions to defeat people like Sherrod Brown- senior (progressive) Senator from Ohio serving since 2007.
What kind of track record does the Cleveland Plain Dealer have with its endorsement record?
Ohioans today are making cars in Lordstown and Toledo. This is a fact.
Not just the largest newspaper in Ohio, the Cleveland Plain Dealer but, the Salt Lake Tribune and the Detroit Free Press.
Willard can’t even win the support of the hometown rags! Priceless.
Obama is up by 5 points in Ohio. Romney can’t possibly catch up and overtake Obama in Ohio in the next two weeks and no Republican has gone onto win the presidency if they didn’t win Ohio.
Great post however I was wanting to know if you could write a litte more on this
topic? I’d be very thankful if you could elaborate a little bit more. Many thanks!
