51% Don’t Want Second Term for President Obama

Monday, October 10, 2011

With unemployment increasing, wages shrinking, and the 10-year war in Afghanistan still raging, the latest IBD/TIPP survey released Monday show a majority of Americans — 51%, don’t want President Obama back for a second term.

By 51%-41%, respondents in October picked “someone new deserves a chance” over Obama “deserves to be re-elected.” Among independents, it was 54%-36%. Back in September, the readings were 50%-44% and 53%-38%, respectively.

Half of Americans give Obama poor or unacceptable marks in creating jobs and economic growth vs. 24% who say he’s doing well.

Among independents, it’s 51%-18%. 33% of swing voters give him an “F” vs. just 2% who give an “A”.

Most shocking, in addition to his deteriorating support among independents, just 77% of Democrats say Obama deserves re-election while 88% of Republicans say he doesn’t.

If Hillary Clinton is looking at entering the 2012 as a third party candidate, now is the time for her to announce.

    I agree! I agree!

If Hillary Clinton is even considering a 2012 run, this is her time to mobilize her Army. We’re standing by and waiting for the word to move, then look out! We will even help the Obamas pack up their shit.

  2. Arizona Leatherneck says:

    Is anyone surprised? Consider:

    – GITMO still open
    – Bulgarian (not so) secret prison still open
    – Troop levels in Afghanistan tripled under Obama
    – Troops still in Iraq
    – Unconstitutional bombing of Libya
    – Covert war in Yemen
    – Drone killings of high-profile targets
    – Kill orders for American citizens
    – Unemployment up to 9.1% under Obama
    – Real unemployment up to 22% under Obama
    – No sanctions for countries with child soldiers under Obama
    – Travel to Cuba still restricted

Obama by any measurement is a total failure. Hope and change? Seriously?

  3. Moonbeam Girl says:

Blame the Tea Party. Don’t blame President Obama.

  4. Mets Fan says:

I really like the idea of Hillary Clinton as a third party candidate.

Then the election would be Obama, Hillary and Romney. All the disgruntled and angry Obama voters would go to Hillary and she would kick Romney’s butt.

  5. Peace Nick says:

Moonbeam Girl – When is it time to stop blaming external factors like the Tea Party, or George Bush, or ethnicity, for Obama’s myriad failures?

When is it appropriate to for the American people to expect Obama to stand up like a man and take responsibility for the tanking economy, failure to create jobs, and inspire confidence in the business community? After how many years as president? Three? Four? Six? Eight? When does the blame game stop?

  6. Ypsilanti says:

Just my opinion but, I don’t get the impression Barack Obama wants to be president anymore.

Sure, he announced he’s running for reelection, he makes the requisite stops pitching his DOA jobs program, but the passion I saw in 2007 and 2008, the “fire in the belly,” it isn’t there. The camera doesn’t lie. His heart isn’t in it this time and who can blame him?

Given an opportunity, I think he would be very happy to hand it off to someone else and pack it in to go home to Chicago.

  7. Harry says:

2012 is up for grabs. It’s anyone’s game. Although, I think Obama is the clear underdog.

  8. Randy Arroyo says:

I think that 51% is going to get a whole lot higher as 2011 turns into 2012 and unemployed Americans say enough, is enough. What I keep hearing is, we gave an inexperienced senator a try and he just hasn’t delivered as promised. The stakes are too high to stay the course and let Obama grow into the job of president.

  9. Adirondacky says:

I agree with Randy. The numbers are going to grow worse for Obama as the cold days of winter approach and even seasonal, minimum wage jobs aren’t available to desperate Americans. When someone can explain to me what Obama has been doing all these years since the election, please share because I can’t figure it out. I know he loves the helicopter trips to Camp David and hundreds of golf games but from the outside looking in, it’s as if Obama has ADHD and can’t focus.

  10. Joe in Colorado says:

How is it things began so well and ended like this?
