Dr. Marcus Bachmann’s ‘Cure the Gay’ Clinic Exposed

Saturday, July 9, 2011

Truth Wins Out, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting anti-LGBT religious extremism and experts on the so-called Christian “ex-gay” therapy racket has released a report of a stunning undercover investigation they conducted carried out a few weeks ago starting on June 23.

Truth Wins Out’s Communications Director John Becker posed as a troubled gay man seeking counseling. During the a week long undercover investigation inside Bachmann & Associates — operated by Dr. Marcus Bachmann, husband of Tea Party queen and GOP presidential candidate Rep. Michelle Bachmann, with hidden cameras. Becker, attended five sessions with Bachmann & Associates counselor Timothy Wiertzema. His experience with Bachmann & Associates and their counselor Timothy Wiertzema led him to conclude:

Based on my experiences at Bachmann & Associates, there can no longer be any doubt that Marcus Bachmann’s state- and federally-funded clinic endorses and practices reparative therapy aimed at changing a gay person’s sexual orientation, despite the fact that such “therapy” is widely discredited by the scientific and medical communities.

At no time was Becker given or asked to sign, any kind of informed consent document that disclosed the dangers of “ex-gay” therapy. Truth Wins Out concluded Bachmann & Associates is engaged in unethical, discredited and harmful practices rejected by the American Psychological Association, The American Medical Association, The American Academy of Pediatrics, and The American Psychiatric Association.

Michelle and Marcus Bachmann are truly despicable people. I’m so happy you’re exposing them for who they are because the mainstream media can’t be bothered to do it. Where is Anderson Cooper on this? He’s gay. Or Rachel Maddow? She’s gay. Bachmann & Associates should be front page.

  2. Eric Equality Kuntz says:

Oh yes, beating someone over the head because they are gay or lesbian. It’s the ultimate example of loving Christians. Puke.

Marcus Bachmann will hopefully face criminal charges for operating this clinic. I’ve written to the Attorney General of Minnesota imploring them to investigate this hate clinic. If you want to drop the MN AG a note, here’s her address:

Never heard of the “ex-gay” movement but it sounds horrible. The Bible thumpers need to mind their own business and leave people the hell alone. I’m so tired of people sticking their noses in other people’s business because they disagree with them. If God made everyone then He or She made gay men and women too. God doesn’t make mistakes — the exception is Marcus Bachmann.

  4. The Real Adam says:

    Seabec,

Google “ex-gay movement” and sit back. You won’t believe the junk psychology you will see.

The witch doctor practitioners of this baloney belong in prison for the damage they cause. A very high percentage of gay people who undergo their services end up committing suicide.

  5. Brigadoon says:

Politicians are so delusional! Did Michelle Bachmann really think the public would ignore the huge gay elephant in the room? Her husband is a closet case. Even she admitted she didn’t want to marry him but “God told her to.” I guess God thought she could change him into a pussy lover.

  6. fran says:

    Faith/hate/discrimination based psychology….

    Beyond Quackery.

Good EEK posted the mailing address to send official requests for investigations.
    Shut that clinic down!

  7. My guess is that if Bachmann picks up steam and the GOP gets worried that when she loses the nomination she will take her thick-fingered xtians assholes with her, they will out her husband. My gaydar isn’t pinging, it’s screaming.

  8. Jolly Roger says:

They both need some “ex-human” therapy. That this nutty bitch is even running for President screams how far wrong we’ve gone.

  9. Jo Truth says:

While I am IN NO WAY a fan of MB, please be aware of the devious nature of this so called “investigation” and the information that was presented in an unfair, untrue, spliced together to garner attention type of report. Use your minds people, don’t let the media brain wash you.

  10. I’m desperately praying to cure her and her wacko husband of their despicable heterosexuality and their infliction of stupid. Please pray with me.

  11. Jo Truth, you’re kidding right??

  12. jo truth says:

not kidding, asking that we don’t become like them (the Bachmann’s of the world) and make assumptions based on someone else’s agenda.

  13. Roedy Green says:

Using John Becker as the mole was a bit unfair. He would rate at least a 12 out of 10 in temptation. However his counselor did nothing in the least improper sexually. The counselor, even if he were gay, would have no risk of being seduced. He would have a heck of a time getting a gay date. I wonder how Mr. Bachmann himself would have behaved on encountering the stunning Mr. Becker. Bachmann’s accent gives away that he hung out in the 60s with screaming queens. That does not jibe with his current story. I would also like to know why there was such a high turnover of foster children in the Bachmann household. Michelle Bachmann is a deeply evil person. It stands to reason there are some corpses rotting in her personal closet.

  14. Roedy Green,

You ask a very important question.

My guess and I have not yet researched the matter, is Michelle and Marcus Bachmann receive a ton of cash from the state of Minnesota for keeping all the adopted kids. Thousands and thousands of dollars each month.

The Bachmanns are grifters. Much like Sarah and Todd Palin.
