“This is a very sick person. Sometimes, we really exaggerate our own importance in a lot of these things. Perhaps his judgment is impaired because of the ethical issues that have arisen, and he is no longer in the Congress.” – Speaker Nancy Pelosi appearing on Charlie Rose’s TV program on the sudden resignation of former Congressman Eric Massa

Salty sailor and homoerotic harasser Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY) recently described a naked confrontation with Rahm Emanuel in the Congressional gym’s locker room. We pay them $165,000 a year and we can’t afford to pay for shower curtains? Sorry but this doesn’t have a ring of truth to it.
I watched Eric Massa on Glenn Beck’s TV show yesterday and he said he groped a male staffer and tickled him until he couldn’t breathe. Massa said it was his 50th birthday. So was this part of the gift-bearing process? I was confused. Did Massa mean to say he was rough housing with the boys or did he mean to imply at age 50, he wanted to know what it felt like to feel another man’s genitals? An extremely odd TV experience for this viewer.
Joe: I believe the Rahm story myself.
General Comment: I couldn’t help but notice the irony in Ms. Pelosi’s comments.
From everything I’ve heard, Rahm Emanuel is intensely despised in Washington circles.
In fact, members of the House are known to walk the other way when they see or hear him coming down the hall. His presence in akin to Karl Rove. Someone who has the president’s ear and yet someone people simply dread encountering.
Of all the cable blab shows Massa could’ve appeared, why on earth did he choose Beck’s? This is every bit as crazy as Massa’s allegations about tickling versus groping and being forced out of the Congress by the Obama White House.
I really wish Pelosi would STFU.
In a year, Massa will be back in the news declaring he’s gay.
Too bad he can’t do it now and save himself all the ridicule he is receiving from people like Emanuel and Pelosi.
I don’t doubt for a second that Emanuel greased the skids, but I also don’t doubt that Massa was going to go down them anyway. His reaction has been that of a petulant spoiled brat who is used to doing whatever he wants to do with no concern for any consequences.
I never heard of Eric Massa until this scandal hit.
It just has an odd smell to it. Guys, straight or gay, in positions of power and authority, even Congressional back benchers, don’t grab other guys junk.
There are rules of decorum and clearly, Massa didn’t get the memo.
