Can’t afford to go to the movies in these recessionary times? Don’t worry because 2009 promises to provide excellent political theater.
We will have a new, charismatic, idealistic Democratic president by the name of Barack Obama going head-to-head with a flailing, power-hungry, self-important House Speaker by the name of Nancy Pelosi.
According to Politico:
Pelosi has “set parameters” for what she wants from the Obama administration: “no surprises, and no backdoor efforts to go around her and other Democratic leaders by cutting deals with moderate New Democrats or conservative Blue Dogs.”
“Specifically, Pelosi has told Emanuel that she wants to know when representatives of the incoming administration have any contact with her rank-and-file Democrats — and why.”
Said one source: “Pelosi is not going to allow Obama to triangulate her. It’s not going to happen to her.”
Triangulate? Wow, that’s some pretty strong language. What exactly is Speaker Botox afraid of? I thought she saw Obama as her partner? When exactly did he become a threat?
Pelosi had better watch her ass because Obama can use his influence to help replace her. The job of the Speaker of the House isn’t a lifetime appointment. Pelosi could find herself back in the House chamber trying waiting her turn to cast a vote.
Pelosi is a whore and an opportunist.
jeebus , when these people are held accountable we are going to see many democrats go down, Pelosi is most likely going to be one of them – i don’t care anymore – i want honest people in there – What kind of offense is Emanual gonna run – in the sense of organized crime that dude is a made man – Indeed no need for netflixs or more satilite channels , but dsl speed yes because i am hoping for hearings. Pelosi is a vile sell out (if there was some integrity there in the first place to lose) her deals with the devil , i.e. impeachment and such made it crystal clear , too too many in that congress, their Oath to the Constitution was secondary to other personal goals – her failure in non opportunist leadership is epic. And that can be said about more than a few.
In order to clean house – its gonna take a super human grass roots effort. But that kind of hunkered down mentality is disgusting on her part.
Obama to Pelosi: Parameter this!
She ain’t running the show.
I don’t see why “Nanny” would have to change the way she’s already been doing things. All she has to do is just what she’s always done, and knuckle under for Obama the way she always does for Chimpy.
Pelosi is replaceable. Few people outside of the city of San Francisco like or approve of her as a person or a Speaker. She needs to begin deferring to our new president or she will find herself outside in the cold.
Pelosi and Reid have to go.
Pelosi is so far right, I don’t see how she could be triangulated. It sounds like she is worried that the next primary or general election challenge in her liberal district will get more traction.
