RawStory has an interesting article up about Weathervane McCain’s ability to come unglued at inopportune times and even on people he espouses to love and cherish. In this case, he got highly peeved at Cindy, his wife. This excerpt is from a soon to be published book by Cliff Schecter:
Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain’s intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain’s hair and said, “You’re getting a little thin up there.” McCain’s face reddened, and he responded, “At least I don’t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt.” McCain’s excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.
Sounds like McCain has some serious anger management issues.

What a “loving” husband, and if he would show that kind of “love” to his spouse, what kind of “love” would he give to the American people.
I have to say I never heard my father call my mother a “cunt.” He told her to shut up from time to time and she him, but never did they use vulgar epithets like this one. I wonder why Cindy puts up with it? She’s loaded and doesn’t rely on John for the income.

I have been aware of McCain since the late 1980’s and I have heard the rumors about his temper.
Having been around a lot of veterans over the years, I have developed a keen sense about them and what they’re dealing with, like PTSD.
The VA, under budget pressure from the Congress, removed the diagnosis of PTSD from the DSM-II, which resulted in the inability of Vietnam veterans to receive benefits or treatment for this condition. It is a very real condition and one I think McCain may very well be suffering from.
I can’t imagine my late husband calling me such a name. Not that he didn’t have a temper — phew, did he ever have a temper but we never engaged in this sort of name calling. I honestly think if he had called me this name I would clobbered him in the head with my iron skillet.
I wonder why Cindy puts up with it?

If the reporters truly heard this interchange, it explains why she looks like an abused/battered wife. Look at her stiff stance around him. This story was verified by three sources: three Arizona reporters confirmed McCain’s use of “cunt” when referring to his wife.

i have never been able to connect to sen mccain. i don’t know if he called his wife a cunt, but if he does, i have zero respect for him.
my spouse and i get into heated arguments sometimes, but we always do it with a great deal of respect. i don’t call him names and he doesn’t call me names. the most that i have ever called my husband was stupid. and i would only do that behind closed doors and then i would quickly apologize. i have only called him a name a couple of times and we have been together 28 years. this man has no respect for his wife and therefore cannot have any real discipline with his temper as president. go take a rest sen mccain. you are a great american and deserve to not have to deal with the headaches and pain of leading the greatest country in the world.
There is absolutely no excuse for verbal abuse of a spouse. Any time a person resorts to this kind of behavior confirms a dark background of abuse, molestation and perhaps violence.
