Hillary Clinton Stokes False Rumors about Obama’s Faith

Hillary Clinton is a bitch and a snake.

But don’t believe me. Watch this YouTube video of her appearance last night CBS’ 60 Minutes program when she is asked if she thinks Barack Obama is a Muslim. While she says no, her denial is flimsy and leaves the door open to the possibility that he may be a Muslim. Note the emphasis on “as far as I know.”

Here’s the full “60 Minutes” exchange between Hillary Clinton and Steve Kroft:

“You don’t believe that Senator Obama’s a Muslim?” Kroft asked Sen. Clinton.

“Of course not. I mean, that, you know, there is no basis for that. I take him on the basis of what he says. And, you know, there isn’t any reason to doubt that,” she replied.

“You said you’d take Senator Obama at his word that he’s not…a Muslim. You don’t believe that he’s…,” Kroft said.

“No. No, there is nothing to base that on. As far as I know,” she said.

  • This is pathetic. Everyone’s trying to cut Barack off at the knees. No wonder most of our best and brightest won’t get into politics.

Bitch and snake describes Hillary to a “T.”

Her performance on 60 Minutes last night is just the latest in her campaign’s effort to “throw the kitchen sink” at Barack Obama to try and stop his momentum. It’s not working.

    Steady Growth in Obama’s Dominance

Gallup’s daily tracking poll has shown a slow but stead increase In Barack Obama’s lead over Hillary Clinton for five surveys now. The latest, conducted Feb. 28-Mar. 1, has him ahead of Clinton 50 percent to 42 percent with a 3 point margin of error.

She a nasty shrew and no one I want in the White House. Haven’t we had enough nastiness following 8 years of Bush/Cheney?

  • Rachel

I’m horrified by Hillary Clinton’s behavior during this campaign. Her antics are a celebration in every societal stereotype that all women are catty and manipulative and pull out the claws with one another to get their way. As a professional woman, let me say I do not behave in this manner. I never have and I never will. Personally, I just want Hillary Clinton to go away. Crawl back in your hole or under your rock. You’re an embarrassment to all women.

I agree with your assessment of her carefully chosen words. She left an opening with her first answer to the question (that she “took him at his word”) and Kroft skillfully got her to say something even closer to the line: “as far as I know.”

She knows that she has NO chance in Ohio unless the southeastern-Ohio Appalachian working-class voters turn out for her, and she knows many of them believe the Internet lies. She couldn’t go on TV and debunk the rumors, she’s counting on ignorance, hatred, and fear to help “scare up” votes for her. Disgusting. She should be ashamed.

Texas and Ohio voters, please “reject and denounce” this woman by voting for Barack Obama. By the way, he has never been a Muslim, visit his website for all the facts, including links to interviews, news stories, etc. to illustrate the TRUTH about Obama’s religion and Chicago church.

And in Obama’s interview with “60 Minutes” Obama quite rightly pointed out that even the question “Are you a Muslim?” does a great disservice to Muslim Americans. It is not a crime to practice Islam!

Hillary is a disgrace to the Democratic party. She is a bottom feeder and her much vaunted intellect is grossly overrated. I believe the sooner she pulls out of the race for Democratic nominee, the better it will be for her, the party and the country.

  • Woodcliffe

She’s out tomorrow. The party is over.

  • What an awful thing….he goes to the same church for 20 years….( more than can be said for Hill)…people’s faith should not be attacked- and it is offensive to Muslims that live in Our Country as well….and it also attacks his history and personal heritage…..he should be proud of his Name, his history and relatives…..and Hillary should be ashamed of how she has acted in this campaign…Taming of the Shrew is how many will remember this campaign…as a woman I am embarrassed and horrified at how she has behaved…

Age is measured in many ways.

One measure is the number of years that have past since birth. Another is a measure of the emotional years. The two don’t always agree.

Hillary Clinton may be 60 years old but emotionally, I am beginning to get a picture of a woman not particularly mature. It isn’t a pretty picture.

  • Pathic and low. Not at all traits that I would want to see in a Presidential candidate.

  • It says more about US than it does about Hill.

So effing WHAT if the guy was a Muslim, or a Wiccan, or a Hindu. When will humanity get past judging someone based on a bunch of fairy tales spun by bad men?

  • Brigadoon

Hillary “As far as I know” Clinton is through.

  • She is reprehensible for casting doubt about her answer – she should have just said, “No, that is just an internet rumor.” But to Jolly Roger’s point – and this is a point Obama should be making as well – it should be said loud and clear that this country’s creed is to not care about one’s faith, that it shouldn’t matter what religion a person is, and that all Americans, including Muslims, Jews, Atheists, Wiccans, Buddhists and any other faith (or non-faith), should have the same right to be President as a Christian. This is the hidden fallacy of the whole “is he a Muslim” whisper campaign. So what if he WERE a Muslim?

I agree completely with Rachel’s comments (and everyone else’s) about how badly Hillary’s behavior reflects on women. Hillary is nothing more than a caricature of the worst stereotypes of womanhood.

As the mother of two daughers, I am raising our girls to be just the opposite of what Hillary displays as the first serious female candidate for President. Our daughters are smart and strong and capable but we have also taught them to be honest, trustworthy, responsible, caring, and empathetic — and also professional in the way they approach their school work and jobs.

As a woman and a mother, I am deeply dismayed that Hillary could actually be held up as the role model of a successful modern woman. Real women are so much better than she is.

  • joost

Barack Obama is a very dignified, classy guy.

If he wasn’t, he could’ve “whispered” about the rumor of Hillary Clinton being a lesbian.

The chatter about Hillary’s sexuality is well known inside Washington circles and there have been more than a few media sources who claim they have vetted sources that can prove Hillary’s sexuality.

If Obama loses both Ohio and Texas, he will have no choice but to go as negative on Hillary as she is going on him. Up to and including the whispers that Hillary Clinton is a lesbian.

  • I’m so sick of the attitude that Islam is somehow worse than Christianity. John Lennon was right to imagine there’s no religion.

  • Some of you folks might be interested in a blog posting of mine about Karl Rove defending Hillary Clinton.

  • kalabro

Mauigirl, I believe Obama did make the comment that he found it offensive that the implication is that being Muslim is a bad thing: “I’m a Christian, but I find the question to be insulting to American Muslims because it implies that there’s something wrong with their religion.”

  • Kalabro above – he did address it many times in speechs these past few weeks…as emails have been sent to key primary states…BTW he is doing a Q&A right now on cspan, and it is really good….turn it on if you have a chance.

  • Hillary knows he’s not, but does it matter?

  • [...] 60 Minutes, Hillary Clinton made a flimsy denial when asked if Barack Obama is Muslim, according to our friends at From the Left [...]

  • Oh dear goddess this bitch is making me feel violent. I hope she gets her ass kicked so bad in texas..dammit i hate feeling like this…but the dispicable behavior , the desparation for power..the will to power..its so damn UGLY in anybody…

Go Texas KICK SOME ASS – vote OBAMA.

  • Who cares if Obama was Muslim and Clinton was a lesbian? Just let them debate their health-care policies and be done with it.

  • Kalabro, thanks so much for setting me straight, I hadn’t heard his response to that. I’m very glad he is saying this.

Joost, I disagree – I think Obama going negative would be the worst thing he could do. Right now the reason he is doing so well is that he isn’t negative, he’s positive. And he has to stay that way in order to win. Otherwise he’d be no different than Hillary and he’d lose his advantage over her.

    HRC being coy is ugly.

Greetings all, as an American Muslim, I’m saying if Hillary plays the “Muslim card” whic it seems she already has, I will not vote for her at all! Muslims are not all radical terrorists! We’re just like everyone else, we get up every day, go to wrok, raise families, go to college, pay taxes, go to movies, take vacations, pretty much act just like everyone else. It hurts and offends me that Muslim Americans are treated as though we’re all bad people, and people who are out to harm non-Muslim Americans when in actuality nothing could be further from the truth.

Terrorism is antithetical to Islam anyway, but that’s a can of worms that I don’t want to open up and does not seem like an appropriate topic for htis blog anyway. And it doesn’t matter what the extremists say, they can twist the Qur’an and Islam all they want to justify their actions, but their actions are far from “Islamic”.
