NJ Assemblyman Gusciora Seeks Gore Delegates for 2008

Do you want Al Gore to be the next president? So does New Jersey Assemblyman Reed Gusciora and he has a plan to make it happen.

Assemblyman Reed Gusciora wants former Vice President Al Gore to be the next president. So he’s launching a statewide grassroots movement to muster the necessary New Jersey delegates to put Gore’s name in at the Democratic National Convention next summer.

Forget about a draft Al Gore movement now. It’s too late, Gusciora contends.

Gore supporters, says the veteran progressive legislator, need to organize and take their cause straight out of the February, 2008, Democratic primary to the convention in Denver.

Gusciora said as it stands there are too many problems with the Democratic candidates who are now running.

Senator Hillary Clinton?

“I just can’t get around her war vote and her lack of remorse over it,” said the Assemblyman.

And the same goes for Sen. Barack Obama, whom Gusciora sees as inexperienced, and Sen. John Edwards, whom the Assemblyman can’t see, frankly.

If all 50 states delegates would do this in Denver, then Gore would have no choice but to agree to run againt the GOP candidate. Hillary would try to kill him.

This is a very practical and intriguing approach to getting Gore’s name on the ballot in all 50 states.

Should this happen, I hope we don’t hear the Oracle say, “If nominated, I will not run…..”

It would be like a stake through my heart.

Can I be a delegate to help make this happen?

  • I can’t see Gore running and if he did, and a Repug won, then Gore would become the Nader of the party which he dosn’t need.

  • I’d love to see this happen. Al Gore once more. Maybe Edwards could be a running mate.

  • Well, Gusciora has a unique idea, I’ll give him that.

But it seems to me that Gore keeps shooting down the idea that he’s running for anything other than Global Warming Guru.

Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket I say.

I think this is a truly brilliant strategy to get Gore on-board and elected president. How could he not accept the delegate’s votes at the Democratic Convention? Yes, he’s focused on climate matters but he’s still loyal to the party. He won’t turn a deaf ear to the pleas of the people.

  • Hillary cannot win, and if Dems choose her they are admitting they don’t care.
