Remember Osama bin Laden? George Bush Doesn’t

American officials say there is mounting evidence Osama bin Laden and his deputy, Ayman al-Zawahri, have been steadily building an operations hub in the mountainous Pakistani tribal area of North Waziristan. Until recently, the Bush administration had described bin Laden and Zawahri as detached from their followers and cut off from operational control of Al Qaeda.

“The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him.” – George W. Bush, 9/13/01

Officials said that the United States still had little idea where Osama bin Laden and Ayman-al Zawahri had been hiding since 2001, but that the two men were not believed to be present in the camps currently operating in North Waziristan. Among the indicators that American officials cited as a sign that Qaeda leaders felt more secure was the release of 21 statements by the pair in 2006, roughly twice the number as in the previous year.

“I don’t know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don’t care. It’s not that important. It’s not our priority.” – George W. Bush, 3/13/02

American intelligence and counterterrorism officials said that most of the men receiving training in Pakistan had been carrying out attacks inside Afghanistan, but that Al Qaeda had also strengthened its ties to groups in Iraq that had sworn allegiance to bin Laden. They said dozens of seasoned fighters were moving between Pakistan and Iraq, apparently engaging in an “exchange of best practices” for attacking American forces.

“I am truly not that concerned about him.” – George W. Bush, responding to a question about bin Laden’s whereabouts, 3/13/02

Did I read somewhere Bin Laden was family friend?
Did I read somewhere, Bin Laden was fighting Soviet army in Afghanistan?
And did anyone ever believe Bush is after Bin Laden?
    What about Iraq oil?!?!!!

  2. T. Mike Randall says:

One of the enduring mysteries of the Bush administration is what made them abandon the hunt for Osama bin Laden and instead, go into Iraq?

Many historians argue that Bush needed bin Laden to function as a McGuffin or a Goldstein, to dangle in-front of the Congress and the American people to frighten them into submission. If so, it worked brilliantly because the Congress rolled over and gave Bush a blank check to wage war against Iraq, expand Federal powers and the roll of the stasi forces like the FBI and CIA and provided Bush with the moniker of “wartime president” for credibility.

I think and I believe that when historians pen the defining chapter of this dark period of American history, Bush’s failure to capture the mastermind of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the USA, will be the most damning and will cement Bush’s stature as the worst president in the history of the republic.

  3. Harry says:

The two of them, Bush and Bin Laden are two haves of a whole. Totally co-dependent and completely fascinated by each other.

  4. Matteo says:

No mystery, T. Mike. Bushco didn’t pursue Osama bin Laden because the familes (the Bush clan and the bin Laden clan) are as tight as Michelle Malkin and Bill O’Reilly.

Business connections of the Bush and bin Laden families

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bin_Laden_family

Michael Moore’s highly critical theatrical documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 alleges strong business connections between the Bush family and the bin Laden family. Moore based most of his claims on Craig Unger’s House of Bush, House of Saud which relates how Salem bin Laden invested through James R. Bath, the sole U.S. business representative for Salem bin Laden, some money in Arbusto Energy, a company run by George W. Bush [1].

On the morning of September 11, 2001, George W. Bush’s father, George H. W. Bush, was meeting with Osama bin Laden’s brother, Shafig bin Laden, in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Washington, on Carlyle Group business. The New York Times reported that they were quickly called together by officials from the Saudi Embassy, which feared that they might become the victims of American reprisals. With approval from the F.B.I., according to a Saudi official, the bin Ladens flew by private jet from Los Angeles to Orlando, then on to Washington, D.C. and finally to Boston. Once the FAA permitted overseas flights, the jet flew to Europe.

Bush doesn’t belong in the White House. He belongs in a Federal prison in a 6″x10″ foot cell and I hope it happens before he can slip out of the country to his new abode in Paraguay where U.S. laws don’t apply.

  6. Brigadoon says:

You know, my feeling is the 2000 election of Bushco/Cheney was stolen.

I know, you know it, everyone knows it but, there was an opportunity to throw the pair out and take back the country, but stupid American sheeple rewarded the two of them with 4 more years. Hope you’re happy, sheeple. You’re getting what you deserve.

  7. Jenna Bush Stole My ID says:

Osama is living on Bush’s Crawford, TX ranch banging the twins. :-)

Matteo’s post entry underscores the failure of the Congress to provide oversight. If this information is available to regular Americans then why did no one in Washington look at the ties between the 9/11 architect and the Bush family? Their friendship goes back decades.

  9. Christopher says:

    Matteo,

Thanks for putting that up. You always manage to find the best information to contribute here and I appreciate it. Props, dude!

  10. Randy Arroyo says:

This story is so troubling. 3,000 people died on Sept. 11th, 2001 and so what does Bush do? He invades Iraq and topples Saddam Hussein who had absolutely zippo to do with the attacks on this country. For Bush, doing the bidding of PNAC was far more important than apprehending OBL, and now he’s back in the saddle and fortifying his powers in the anti-west Pakistan. Well done, President Bush.

  11. Topper says:

Bush is protecting Usama bin Laden. He flew his family out of the USA the day after 9/11 when all other airspace was closed to flight. The world needs to understand that this president doesn’t care about the American people. He cares about protecting old family friends.

  12. kayinmaine says:

This is why I believe Osama sent his best suicide bombers to help the Bush Regime on 9/11/01 with the agreement Osama would be used as the Boogeyman to get what the Regime wanted and they in turn would give Osama cover.

Is Osama dead? Could be. But it wouldn’t matter now, cause the Pigs got what they wanted anyways! Hell, it was reported before 9/11 that our own CIA visited Osama in a Dubai hospital when he started having kidney/liver problems. Osama HAD to be alive for 9/11 to be used as propaganda.

Bush is and has always been…aiding and abetting our enemies. The End.

  13. Jim says:

What great leadership. I sincerely hope that we can recover from the ineptitude of the Bushites, but I fear it will take many decades.

  14. mike says:

Insurmountable evidence against this president! A selfish, greedy pig, who will gladly sell out innocent lives to further his empire. He will not seek out Bin Laden as his own interests are at stake, the betterment of his oil business. I wish that the mindless, thoughtless, woolgathering masses would wake up and have this man impeached. Rally outside the white house and have him jailed, for he is in every sense of the word, a criminal. He has sacrificed thousands of lives, American and Iraqi, to politically divert attention away from his abandonment of the search for Bin Laden, and to provide a sacrificial lamb to the American public. How can this be more obvious people, wake up. He’s one evil bastard!

  16. Richard Cook says:

On 9/11/01 I predicted that Bush would let bin Laden get away and use the attacks as an excuse to invade Iraq. Bush waited over one month before making a token effort at invading Afhganastan, before finally giving up and telling the military to prepare for Iraq. What military is still in Afghanastan was told to let the locals handle bin Laden. Then Bush spent a year telling Saddam to get ready for us. Bush knew what he was doing and purposely handled the war this way to ensure that it continud for as long as possible. He said this war will not end as long as he is president, so obviously he had no plan to either win it or to manage it effectively. That’s because to win it would mean to end it.
Those who like to compare him to President Roosevelt when Japan attacked us don’t know their history. Mr. Roosevelt went to Congress the next day and asked for and got a formal declaration of war. Bush waited nearly two weeks before going before Congress, and did not ask for a declaration of war. He promised to get bin Laden and al-Qeada, but 6 months later decided that doing so was not a priority.
His supporters claim that anyone who thinks we should have gone after bin Laden instead of Saddam is anti-American and against fighting for freedom. Don’t believe that? Just ask Rep. Marsha Blackburn, the Bush lapdog from Tennessee. She actually said that in a tv interview, then denied saying it.
It is bad enough they call people like me a communist for wanting to keep jobs in America instead of sending the jobs to China, which is a COMMUNIST COUNTRY! But I get blammed for my job being sent there on the basis I was earning too much. Those who say that live in expensive houses ,drive Mercedes, and have a private boat and airplane.
The war was intended to distract attention from all the damage Bush has done to the country via the economy and continued loss of jobs, which is to put more money in the bank accounts of the wealthy. I paid social security taxes for 35 years before I could not find any permanent work after being laid off.

Despite the fact that I have a disability now, I cannot collect for it because that money was used to give tax cuts to millionaires who never paid social security taxes. Bush lied when he said “it’s your money”to those people. It is MY money, but he won’t let ME have it! FASCIST!!!!!
Anyone who supports Bush is antiAmerican and should be investigated for treason!!

There is an article which states that Osama had been in this house protected by nine foot high walls for six years, 2011 minus 6 = 2005. Who was president of the US at the time? Who boasted that like the Texass rangers he would get his man “DEAD OR ALIVE”?Who was financed by, who owed and still owes? theBIN LADEN family the money it loaned
Just a little of bombast, the strutting fool who ran away from the Iraq war hiding in Texas and the cottonfields of Alabama. Now his staunch defenders say he is the real hero because the inmates of Gitmo were waterboarded. they all make me puke
