Democrats take over the majority in both the U.S. House and Senate on Thursday and begin the arduous task of leading the nation back from the empty political wilderness.

On Thursday, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) takes the gavel as the first-ever woman House Speaker. Pelosi has promised a 100 legislative-hour march to put the Democratic stamp on the new Congress.

The Democratic agenda includes implementing ethics rules, raising the minimum wage, implementing 9/11 Commission recommendations, cutting subsidies to the oil industry, promoting stem cell research, reducing interest on student loans and making prescription drugs more affordable.

It’s an ambitious agenda but it’s an American agenda. Poll after poll shows the American people overwhelmingly support the Democrat’s agenda.

Expect Republicans to kick and scream and dig their feet in, but tomorrow is a new day for America. They can either get onboard or get out of the way.

The choice is theirs.

The GOP is already sending their operatives out with long knives to try and destroy Speaker Pelosi. From the Washington Times, to Fox News and the WSJ, the snarky, pithy anti-Pelosi forces are on the warpath. Hang tough Ms. Speaker and don’t sweat the forces of darkness.

It’s almost like winning the lottery. After 12, long years, we’re back! Yeah, baby!

  • It’s like the dawning of the Age of Enlightment.

Tomorrow, humanity begins to walk again in the light, as the reason and goodness returns to government and the conservative menace is finally put to rest.

The fight to achieve and now protect choice is on-going and intensified during the past 12 years the GOP ran the country. They were very effective in that time, as many states no longer offer family planning of any type to women and doctors who perform legalized abortions can lose their license to practice medicine. The 110th Congress must uphold Roe and send out a loud message that American women will not be forced into back allys or foreign countries to exercize their right to control their own bodies.

Pelosi has an enormous task before her. I hope she doesn’t buckle under the pressure.

  • Hello,

Congressman Ron Paul, a man who truly believes in freedom, is running for the Republican nomination for president. I’m working to gather support so Congressman Paul will become a candidate.
